Lately I have been reading a lot more. I pick up used books all the time and I try to pick the dry bones of whatever subject the author is trying to convey for some inspiration for my Stoic journey. This past weekend I picked up a ragged copy of “The Intellectual Life” by A.G. Sertillanges O.P. who is a Dominican priest and I have to say that it is quickly becoming one of my favorite books.
The text is old written in the early 1900’s but the lessons on personal development and study are timeless. Things like work and life balance, routine and the sacredness of study. The importance of rest and sleep are highlighted. Great book all around.
